Can I deactivate or delete my JOOPI account, and if so, what happens to my data?
Yes! You can either pause or permanently delete your JOOPI account at any time. Here's how each option works and how to do it:
To Pause Your Account (Deactivate Temporarily):
Pausing your account will hide your profile from new people, but you can still chat with your existing matches.
Steps:
Go to the Settings tab (⚙️ icon in your profile).
Tap Discovery to expand the section.
Toggle on the Pause switch.
You’ll see a confirmation screen saying “Account on pause.”
To resume, tap “Resume account in settings.”
Note: Pausing your account does not delete any data or matches — it's a great way to take a break without losing anything.
To Delete Your Account (Permanently):
Deleting your account is irreversible. All your data, matches, and conversations will be permanently erased.
Steps:
Open the Settings tab.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
A pop-up will ask: “Are you sure you want to delete your account?”
You can choose to Pause My Account instead, or tap Delete My Account to continue.
Select the reason you're leaving (e.g., “I found someone,” “JOOPI isn’t for me,” etc.).
If you select Other, you’ll be prompted to share more details (optional).
Tap Delete Account again to confirm.
You'll see a final confirmation screen:
“Your account has been deleted. You’re welcome to return anytime.”
What happens to my data?
When you pause your account, your data remains intact and private.
When you delete your account, all personal information is permanently removed in line with our Privacy Policy.
